Daniele Cestari was born in Ferrara in 1983. He graduated in architecture in 2009 and studied photography and painting as self-taught. He lives and works in Bondeno, Ferrara.
The works of the painter Cestari are clearly influenced by his university studies in architecture: the subjects, in fact, are anonymous and remote urban landscapes filtered by a photographic eye. The artist represents the city views with dynamism, through rapid brushstrokes and barely defined shapes, as if to emphasize that the real subject is not the urban reality, but the rendering of the quick and almost superficial gaze of a passer-by, protagonist and creator of the city itself.
Daniele Cestari's paintings restore that sense of shipwreck in the confusion that afflicts those who live in the city. In the series "Naufrago Urbano" (Urban Castaway), which also gives the title to Daniele Cestari's solo exhibition in Milan in 2013, through different urban landscapes the artist conveys the feeling of dissolving of the contours of the structures in the frenzy of life.
Daniele Cestari has had solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad (Boston, London, Amsterdam, Mykonos, Sofia). In 2011 he was invited to the Regional Pavilion Emilia Romagnaper the 54th Venice Biennale, and in 2014 he was invited to participate in the exhibition "Ritratti di Città - Urban Sceneries" curated by Flaminio Gualdoni at Villa Olmo in Como.
Daniele Cestari is counted among the most quoted contemporary painters, in fact he has a wide interest among critics and public. The prices of the artist from Ferrara are increasing.
