Franz Borghese (Rome, 21 January 1941 - Rome, 16 December 2005) was an Italian painter and sculptor, one of the protagonists of Italian painting of the second half of the twentieth century.
In his work he represents a bourgeoisie of the early twentieth century, with ironic and fantastic vein which, as much as it is more cutting and bitter, so much closer and empathetic to human weakness, through a language and poetics that rise to universal metaphor.
